Essaouira is about 170km from Marrakech and roughly the same distance from Agadir. It has its own International airport, however, currently only direct flights from Paris or Casablanca land there. Flights from the UK to Essaouira are apparently planned in the not too distant future. Meanwhile, Marrakech is the most convenient airport for Essaouira. From there, it takes about 2.5 hours by Grand Taxi or car. If required, we are happy to organise a taxi for you. Alternatively, you can take a bus or cab to the central bus station and take a Supratours coach to Essaouira, a journey of about four hours. There are several departures every day.
The road from Marrakech to Essaouira is long, straight and very easy to drive.
Please contact us for directions. The drive from Agadir takes around 2.5 hours via the motorway or 3.5 hours by scenic coastal road.
Once in Essaouira, there is plenty of parking outside the city walls at around DH30 (approx. €3) per day/night. Our house agent will meet you on arrival and one of many baggage handlers will transport your cases to Dar Qawi by hand cart for a small fee.
